Eelille ei – ihme kyllä – ole toistaiseksi koskaan tarvinnut kutsua ambulanssia. No, Silla on vasta neljä kuukautta ja sille piti. Olimme Nallikarissa uimassa ja pois lähdettäessä Silla rääkäisi, hänet nostettiin kaukalosta pois ja sieltä ryömi esille pökkyräisen näköinen ampiainen. Ja Sillan jalassa ammotti komea reikä, jonka ympäristö turposi kuin ilmapatja. Soitimme hätänumeroon ja ambulanssi kurvasi paikalle varmistamaan, että Silla on kunnossa. Ambulanssin salskeita ensihoitajia hymyilytti, kun Silla vaan naureskeli. Pitkien tutkimusten jälkeen tultiin siihen tulokseen, että henki kulkee ja elämä jatkuu. Isiä ja Eeliä kuitenkin hieman jännitti, kun odottelimme tuloksia ambulanssin tummennettujen lasien ulkopuolella.
Surprisingly enough, we have never had the need to call the ambulance for Eeli. However, today we had to do that for Silla. We were swimming in Nallikari and just leaving when Silla cried out, we lifted her from her car seat and saw a stunned wasp crawling beneath her. Then mommy found a gaping hole in Silla’s leg, swollen like a balloon. Well, we rang the emergency number and they sent an ambulance to check things out. The two able young nurses were a bit confused when their patient just laughed at them. After a long and thorough investigation, it turned out that the patient will survive, no serious reactions or anything. Eeli and daddy were a bit worried for a moment, though, since they had to wait outside the ambulance.
